Kathy Ann Shower was 32 when she did her Playmate shoot. Kathy would be 33 when she did the 1986 PMOY shoot, making her the oldest, so far. Kathy also appears in May 1988 and August 1996 pictorials and on the cover of the April 1984 and August 1985 issues. Karen Velez is the December 1984 Playmate. Vanity, aka Denise Matthews, is the Canadian lead singer of the 80s female trio Vanity 6, which recorded the 1982 R&B hit "Nasty Girl". This issue is a wee bit unusual in that it has both the current and next year's Playmate Of The Year.
