Terri Lynn Doss is on the cover of the October 1988 issue.
Cindy Crawford is interviewed and appears again in the September 1995 issue.
This cover image (and p.78) is also on the cover (and p.4) of the Newsstand Special "Supermodels" from March 1995.
Of all of the covers over the years there are few that rely solely on a black & white image. That is with no other graphics constituting the cover except content highlights. There's this one, the first issue's cover,  those of May 1973, and January 2007 although the earlier one also has a slight sepia tint and the June 1993 cover of Anna Nicole Smith photographed by Daniela Federici.
